UKRAINIAN SIGN LANGUAGE – IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NEW STATE STANDARD IN THE 5TH-6TH FORMS OF THE NEW UKRAINIAN SCHOOL
Abstract
Sign language bilingual education is important both for the language development of students with hearing impairments, fulfilling their basic communicative needs, and mastering key competencies in the subject "USL". The research is focused on the development and implementation of USL model programs in the 2022-2023 academic year, which is a natural phenomenon taking into account modern legislative educational changes. Thanks to the implementation of the State Standard - the direction of educational reform, the linguistic branch of Ukrainian sign language retains the opportunity to have its legitimate place in the educational process of general education special schools...,because lingual competences make it possible to form a number of sign language communicative competences of the language personality of a deaf and hard of hearing student during the adaptation period.
Methods: a general description of the development of the course, its purpose, content lines of competence, paradigms of studying USL for two categories of students, peculiarities of studying educational material; comparative analysis of foreign experience in creating language programs for learning sign language, clarifying the specifics of application (first language, second language), etc.; characterization of the trajectory of learning and mastering content competence lines, visual and technical fixation and processing of examples-samples of gestural speech - "linguistic identity banks" of native speakers. The results of the research testify to the experience of implementing the project "USL model educational program" of different levels of education seekers with hearing impairments", carried out within the framework of the planned topic "Theoretical and methodological principles of ensuring communicative accessibility of the educational environment for persons with hearing impairments" (0121U108686) of the Department of Sign Language Education of the Institute of Special Pedagogy and Psychology named after Mykola Yarmachenko of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in 2021-2023.
The proposed program was developed taking into account the problems of analyzing the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students, general aspects of lygvo-didactic design and taking into account the basis of interdisciplinary interaction in the study of USL. The peculiarities of the construction of programs (structure), content are revealed in the context of specificity, consistency, compliance with the general principles of education, the provisions of the New Ukrainian School, etc. The approaches are considered as a dichotomy of opposite views on SL education, which the authors define in different opposite terms. Examples of sign language are offered, representing the creation of "linguistic identity banks".
