Social request to the level of professional competence of the modern teacher-speech therapist
Abstract
The article outlines the problem of training of qualified specialists in special education, able
to work effectively in the conditions of the New Ukrainian School. The requirements of the
society for the training of speech therapists in higher education are considered. It is established
that with the change of social order the conceptual filling of the content of preparation of
future speech therapists within the competence approach should change. In this connection,
the problem of preparing speech therapists for professional activity on the basis of the
competence approach and in accordance with a social request is covered. The concept of
“competence”, “competence”, “professional competence” is disclosed. The author’s understanding
of the term “professional competence of the future speech therapist teacher in an inclusive
educational environment” is presented. The structure of the professional competence of the
modern speech therapist has been expanded. The ways of forming a professionally qualified
speech therapist to work in the conditions of inclusion are determined.
