Methods of researching the problems of education of persons with hearing disabilities (from the experience of training the Phd in special education)
Abstract
At the current stage, the issues of ensuring the quality of higher education at the third (educational and
scientific) level, synchronizing the national education system with European standards and spreading the best experience are relevant. In accordance with the purpose, the article presents the experience of
training doctors of philosophy in special education according to the basic training course «Methodology
and design of scientific research in special and inclusive education», presents modern methods that
can be used at the stage of empirical research: expert survey; SWOT analysis of the achievements and
development prospects of the system of support for children with special educational needs and teacher
training; the methodology of «Building a problem tree», which allows you to analyze and clarify causeand-
effect relationships, the author’s training «Prospects of the development of a special educational
institution» in order to determine the priorities of the development of the education of children with
hearing impairments, discussing issues of the development of special education institutions with
practicing teachers. The methods of theoretical analysis of literary sources and the results of modern
research presented in electronic scientific publications are used; analysis of regulatory documents;
summarizing the experience of training higher education applicants for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy
at the Mykola Yarmachenko Institute of Special Pedagogy and Psychology of the National Academy of
Sciences of Ukraine (2016-2022). An increase in the professional level of awareness of graduate students
in accordance with modern approaches to the organization of research in the field of education of children
with special needs was noted, it was established that the students noted a decrease in tension due to
better awareness, clearer ideas about the necessary steps. The presented program meets the criteria
included in the «Recommendations for experts of the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher
Education regarding the accreditation of educational programs of the third level of higher education».
