Abstract

Educational innovations and modern challenges actualize the need to update the programs for training doctors of philosophy in the specialty of special education. The purpose of the article: to highlight the key aspects of the academic discipline "Methodology and design of scientific research in special and inclusive education", which is implemented in the educational program for training doctors of philosophy in the specialty 016 Special Education / A6 Special Education (by specialization). Research methods: methods of theoretical analysis of literary sources, analysis of regulatory and legal documents to determine the conceptual foundations, goals and values ​​of higher education (PhD level) in Ukraine and other countries; case studies and a method for summarizing the experience of teaching and training doctors of philosophy in the specialty 016 Special Education at the Mykola Yarmachenko Institute of Special Pedagogy and Psychology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, summarizing the experience of accreditation of educational programs while working as part of the industry expert council 01 Pedagogy of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education. It is taken into account that research skills are formed not only through scientific research, but also through various educational activities - from performing practical tasks and projects to critical reflection of results (for example, literature analysis, statistical data analysis, preparation of analytical reports, etc.). This is facilitated, in particular, by the following forms and methods of learning used in the process of studying the presented discipline: discussions, brainstorming, situation analysis, analysis of documentary sources, design, defense of creative tasks, presentations, forums, etc.
