Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the problem of forming environmental competence of schoolchildren with intellectual disabilities. It is noted that the formation of ecological competence is one of the key tasks for the development of an ecologically cultured personality, the formation of environmental protection activities of the younger generation. The competence-based approach to teaching students with intellectual disabilities as the main component of modern education is considered. It is determined that environmental competence is a set of knowledge, skills and abilities aimed at nature protection. The components of environmental competence are analysed. It is noted that environmental competence is a component of human environmental culture.
