Abstract

The paper is dedicated to the study of competency-based tasks use during Computer Science classes as an effective means of developing informational competence in students with hearing impairments. The theoretical aspects of the "informational competence" concept are analyzed, along with its importance for the development of students with special educational needs. The aim is to theoretically substantiate the features of informational competence and to develop an author's methodology for using competency-based tasks to enhance informational competence in students with hearing impairments in Computer Science classes for grades 8-10.
Methods: descriptive thematic approach, analysis of literary sources, generalization, inference. Results. The author's methodology for creating and using competency-based tasks is justified. These tasks not only facilitate the acquisition of knowledge in Computer Science, but also promote the development of critical thinking skills, analysis, and problem-solving. Special attention is given to the specifics of teaching students with hearing impairments, taking into account their cognitive, linguistic, and speech peculiarities. The sections of competency-based tasks adapted to the needs of students in this category are specified (situations, instructions). The features of tasks that stimulate active participation of students in the learning process, contribute to the development of analytical skills, independence, and the ability for interdisciplinary thinking are explored. The practical results of the research confirm that competency-based tasks are an effective tool for developing not only technical skills but also the overall informational competence of students, increasing their motivation for Computer Science classes in higher grades, and ensuring successful integration into modern information society. It is proven that the informational competence developing system through the application of tasks has practical significance for Computer Science educators who teach students with hearing impairments, as well as for developers of educational programs and methodological materials.
