TO THE PROBLEM OF ENSURING AN INCLUSIVE APPROACH IN MEDICAL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
Abstract
The article outlines new challenges that medical education will face during the war and in the post-war period: retraining of doctors who were mobilized and did not have the necessary medical practice for a long time, doctors who became disabled due to injuries, obtaining medical education by combat medics, among whom there are also people with disabilities as a result of the war. It is emphasized that at the current stage, in conducting research, it is necessary to take into account historical aspects, the current national context, international trends and the social significance of the research results. Given the relevance for Ukraine of creating a barrier-free space, the purpose of the article is to present the results of research into the problem of ensuring an inclusive approach in medical institutions of higher education, which becomes especially relevant in conditions of martial law. The main research methods are: methods of theoretical analysis of literary sources and results of modern research presented in electronic scientific publications included in the scientometric databases PubMed, Index Copernicus, Ulrich’s Periodicals, Google Scholar, etc.; analysis of regulatory documents, materials from official websites of organizations related to the problem under study; generalization of the author's scientific and practical experience. According to the results of a study of foreign experience in ensuring an inclusive approach in medical institutions of higher education, it was determined that persons with disabilities experience significant difficulties in obtaining a medical degree, which is due to the insufficient level of organization of special support in the educational institution, at the bases of practices (hospitals) and a biased attitude towards the ability of such persons to meet the standards of the medical profession and to perform professional duties qualitatively.
