Exceptional Child: Teaching and Upbringing is the leading Ukrainian scientific journal in the fields of special pedagogy and psychology. New issues are published 4 times per year: in March, June, September and December.

We publish articles about the development of children with special educational needs: original research results; methodological, educational and informational materials.

The sope of the Journal: diagnostics, education, development, psychological support, rehabilitation of children with disabilities.

Our main task is to connect our authors and readers with the global scientific community. Therefore we care about adherence to the established standards of quality and academic integrity. Our Journal is indexed in the national and international electronic libraries, catalogs and scientific databases.

The Journal was founded in 1995 and has previously been published under the names Defektolohiia (1996-2012) and Defektolohiia. Osoblyva Dytyna: Navchannia ta Vykhovannia (2013). Since 2014 the name of the Journal is Osoblyva Dytyna: Navchannia ta Vykhovannia (Exceptional Child: Teaching and Upbringing).

The journal's audience is researchers, university professors and students; IRC specialists, educators, methodologists, psychologists and social workers of institutions with special and inclusive forms of education; parents of children with special educational needs.
